Kevin Sorbo on shooting Hercules:

"Each episode of Hercules takes about eight business days to shoot. We have two full units that work very hard on the show down in New Zealand. We work on both sides of the Pacific. We have a huge crew here in Los Angeles that puts together the sound, the editing and the special effects. Our writers are here in LA, and sometimes I feel l'm out of the loop because we are so far apart. I change lines now and then, but by the time the scene gets back here to LA we've torn down the set, so they can't do anything about it!"

Lucy Lawless on playing the role of Rizzo in Grease on Broadway:

"Rizzo was a tough chick. I spent nine days rehearsing for the role and then I woke up the next morning after the opening night and I screamed. I thought, 'Oh my God, I've got to do that same script 64 more times! It's like the movie Groundhog Day!' With Xena, I always have a new script in my hands, so you rarely get to spend time going over and over the same piece. But the whole experience was awesome and I made lifelong friends."

Lucy Lawless on being a tomboy: "My mother always said I didn't know I was a girl until I was eight. I remember when my father told me that men could jump longer in the long jump than girls. It was a shocking revelation to me. I thought I could run just as fast and jump just as high. And the rest of my life l've been trying to prove that."

Kevin Sorbo on fame: "I never confuse myself with the character, believe me. Unfortunately, when l'm in public places with friends some people do. It's the males... we have an ego. They say, 'So you're Hercules?' I have to say, 'It's just a TV show. I'm not half-God and l'm not the strongest man in the world."'

Kevin Sorbo on his own heroes: "I still think the two biggest heroes in my life were my mom and dad. My parents were always there for me. I think that's why I got involved with this whole mentor program. I think it's really important that adults are involved in a child's life."

Kevin Sorbo on the best part about playing Hercules:

"Initially, the best part was just having a job. It's a tough business with a lot of rejection. Now, the best thing for me about doing the job is the people I work with. But it's tough being 7,000 miles away from home. New Zealand is beautiful and Australia is beautiful, but when you're not living in the country you grew up in, you certainly miss those things that are part of that country."

Lucy Lawless on how hard it was to film the Adventures in the Sin Trade episode:

"That was the beginning of a very tough period for me. I don't know how it reads on screen. But I couldn't speak about it because it would come out like complaining and we're all in it together. I love my crew so much that I wouldn't want to do that to them. They work long hard hours and they need me to be a good morale officer. We get a lot of young, inexperienced actresses, and if they see me acting badly then they'll think that's okay, and it's just not."

Kevin Sorbo on what he has to do to become Hercules:

"I think what happens when you're on a show for so long, it's pretty easy once you've put the costume on. Once the gauntlets go on, I become Hercules! It's something you fall into when you're doing the show and the character for as long as l've been doing it. There's something magic about it. Then I try to memorize my lines and try not to bump into the fumiture."

Lucy Lawless on pregnancy:

"I once worked for a gold mining company, running through the desert, working the compass and jumping over snakes and lizards. It was kind of cool. But I discovered that I was with child and I had to deal with that. The day I came home from the hospital, about five days after my daughter was born, I sat feverishly writing skits and things I wanted to do. I was going to produce my own audition video. I did produce it and it was quite funny. I was also with an acting troupe for a couple of years."

Kevin Sorbo on working for charity:

"I have a foundation that's called A Worid Fit For Kids' and it deals with an issue that's very important to me. I always wanted to do something for kids and when you get into a position like l've been blessed with, it gives you an opportunity to speak up and, hopefully, some people will listen. Basically, the foundation works with teens and teaches them to become coaches and mentors to younger children. So we are, hopefully, saving two lives at the same time."

Kevin Sorbo on the episode which has been most fulfilling for him as an actor:

h2b "There's an episode where I go back to tell my wife that basically she was really dead. It was called The Other Side. The writers have given my character more dimension and made me more flawed. I think he needs to be more flawed. Whether he's half-God or not, the guy still has some problems. The writers have challenged me more this year."

Lucy Lawless on playing comedy:

"I auditioned once in school for Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor, and I didn't want to go for the woman's role because she was goofy, young and stupid. I wanted to play the guy, and I knew I could pull it off, because it was a comic role."

Lucy Lawless on running for President :

"It seems they can overlook a lot of things in this country, so maybe they won't mind that l'm not an American citizen."

Lucy Lawless on her remark in TV Guide that both Xena and herself are misfits:

"There have been times where I have felt like a misfit. There's one thing l've learned, especially from watching VH1, and that is nobody gets out unscathed.x2b You think everybody's got such an easy run, and we'd like to be Tom Hanks or someone like that, but you don't know their problems. And if you switched places with them, who is there who loves you that would you'd no longer know?"

h2c

Kevin Sorbo on his political plans:

"I should run for President. But will I have to wear the leather pants in the Oval Office? Those pants weigh 12 pounds. So the next time you think, 'Oh his kick wasn't very high', you try wearing 12 pound pants for 12 hours a day and see how high you can kick!"
